Are You a Caregiver? You are a family caregiver If you do any of the following for a family member or loved one who is dependent on your help:
If you are helping someone with any of these tasks, you’re not alone. Per AARP, nearly half of all Utahn’s who are 40 + years old have experience as a caregiver for an adult family member or loved one. When all the younger family caregivers and caregivers caring for a child with a disability are considered, the numbers are even more humbling. As reported in the Utah Family Caregiver plan, it is estimated that there are over 450,000 unpaid family caregivers in the State! You are part of a very important and diverse group. Caregivers may live with their loved one or provide long-distance care. Some caregivers are juggling care with work and/or raising a family. Caregiving demands time, resources, love, and energy. It’s important to know that there are many others navigating through a similar passage in life, and that support and resources are available to you. Receive Free Resources! |
